So many sit down chinese restaurants closing. We came here on a recommendation from the owners of Kim's in troy. Great flavors. Portions were fine. The won ton soup was A+++.

I really can’t say anything bad on this one- I’ve been slacking and forget to take some good photos before I start chowing on the good grub but everything was Great!!! Great place for a good Christmas meal if all your family plans are on Christmas Eve like my family. Everything was really good on this trip and we will be going back soon for that almond boneless and the egg rolls (and dumplings and everything else!)

I've been going to Golden Crown since the 1980s. The food has always been very good. The proprietors (Stan and Connie) are treasures!

Nice service, smaller portions compared to other typical Chinese restaurants. Enjoyed the food and relaxing ambiance of the restaurant.

If I could give this place a zero I would little short guy at counter is super rude and told me he would shoot me very nasty attitude told me I wasn't nothing very highly offended

Food was horrible, greasy & served on dirty dishes. The REALLY REALLY SHORT older gentleman running the counter. Whom I assume is the owner Is extremely rude to his staff & guest. This guy really has a temper problem. All He does is Yell really ridiculous. I never write bad reviews but I'll never eat here again. This place is also dark and dirty. Food taste like greasy Microwave food.

If it wasn't for those awesome egg rolls, I would give even less stars. Rude service, pretty bad food. Except the egg rolls - those were actually great.

The best Chinese food you can get anywhere. It is what we Americans are used to. It is not full of peas and carrots or cabbage. It is good food. One thing to note they do not mark the cartons when you have a carry out. This is the old fashioned way of doing Chinese food. 20 years ago they did not mark the outside of the carton. This restaurant follows practices like they did 20 years ago. Their food is marvelous. I know people who have traveled from Texas to come and eat their roles.

Slow take out service

I don't know if it was a language issue but I asked if i could get a sweet and sour dc shrimp with veggies and whoever answered the phone was really rude. He said "I should come in and look at the menu" then hung up the phone me. 8 normally don't give bad reviews and maybe it was a off day but...i refuse to give this place my business today.

This is hands down the best. The general tso’s isn’t fried and if you are craving almond boneless, they make the perfect classic. Nice place to go if you want a quiet evening away from it all.

I always have a great experience eating here. They are very hospitable and the food is always great!

Their food has been consistently excellent for almost 30 years, but the service is horrendous. Only take out for me because they suck so bad.

My buddy didnt enjoy his meal and didnt eat it. The server(maybe owner) didnt even think to ask why he didnt touch his food. Instead of complaining I just left a $2 tip on $18 to show we were unhappy. She didnt like this and instead of taking the opportunity to ask about the uneaten meal and why we were unhappy she just made a smart comment and gave us dirty looks. The bread and egg drop soup were good hence the 2 stars. To be honest the server was very pushy and impatient for a completely empty restaurant but thats probably why it was empty at lunch time on a Friday. Will not be back.

Not only was I missing a $6 item from my delivery order I was presented with this for General Tso's. 80% liquid and grilled chicken. Looked disgusting so I didn't even try it and threw it out.

Very unsatisfied with the service and food here. There was no paper towel in the bathroom, the server was very rude and pushy. We asked for a minute to order and she came back in 10 sec. She returned to our table every 2 mins throughout our meal. I ordered the almond chicken and it was no good. I had a couple bites and put it to the side. Never once did she ask if something was wrong or if I didn't like it. The only thing that was decent was the egg drop soup and the bread. We will not be back that's for sure.

Wasnt really impressed with the food. Simple carry out of the General Tso dinner with shrimp fried rice upgrade, so I didnt expect much, but the portion was honestly ridiculously small for a dinner. The lady was nice but the food was uninspiring and portion was really small for what I paid. I guess they cant waste much food because the restaurant was very empty of customers... I can kinda see why.

I wish I would have paid more attention to the reviews before I went here. The food is horrible, no flavor at all. The sweet and sour shrimp had 4 pieces of shrimp and nothing else except for a big pile of rice. The service is terrible, I had to bang on my glass with my fork just to get more water and there was only 2 tables of people in there. She sits way in the back after she brings the food. No fortune cookie or soup. I guess you can either get an egg roll or soup but she never asked me which one I wanted.

I came into this restaurant on a Sunday around 3 p.m. . there was no one there, although I gave the restaurant the benefit of the doubt. when I came in I was greeted by a small man with a very crappy attitude we asked could we sit down, and we did but at some point we changed our mind and decided to take our food to go. He seemed to have no problem with that. We ordered the pepper steak dinner and the general towels dinner. The General Tao's chicken was the most disgusting thing that we have ever seen in all history of Chinese food Kama a disgrace actually. It looked nothing like what normal General Tao's chicken would look like, like they gave us pieces of chicken breast and had it floating in sauce. A month for the crappy service and crappy food, they will no longer see our business there

Very polite, with excellent food. Only slight issue I've ever seen is when somewhat, indecent people come in and have a problem with the owners/staff speaking in Mandarin. However, to me, this isn't anything to be concerned about.

I would give no stars if I could. This place is racist, the cashier Stanley didn’t speak when l came in and he slammed my food on the counter. He spoke to the white customers that came in after me and handed them their food in their hands. Will not be back!

Was a fave as a kid. I was very disappointed in my visit with my kids. I bragged about it but the focus d was very “eh”.

Not sure about the previous reviews of the portions being small, as we found the portions more than generous. Enough so that we had leftovers from both entrees that we ordered. And, everything that we ordered was really tasty. It is Americanized Chinese food, but that is what we were after and it was really good. Everything was served extremely hot and our waitress was very attentive and accommodating, she was a sweetheart. I will agree the gentleman at the hostess/cashier stand does not appear to be friendly or social, as he did not acknowledge our existence, but I had no need to interact with him, so it was of no consequence to me. We will be back!

Good food

I was greeted cheerfully and shown to a table right away. My server was very nice. I ordered #19 Honey Spicy Chicken combination. The sauce was delicious and so was the egg roll. The chicken was deep fried nicely however it was very chewy and a bit tough. Overall, ok experience maybe I'll try something different next time.

Bland food and the owner is very rude and disrespectful. I could not really enjoy my last visit because of the way he was yelling over the phone with customers. We went up to the front to pay and he spoke to my husband and myself like we’re kids. I didnt understand what the heck he was saying and kindly ask him to repeat. It was a very dumb and rude comment he made and I wanted to make sure I heard him right. I will never go back or refer others. I’ve been to better Chinese restaurants in Michigan other than this place!

Little short guy at the counter is so rude! Literally had no respect for me! First and last time I ever go here. Portion size way too small, I’m surprised they are still in business. The food has no flavor and tastes like nothing. Never going here again. Go to Takee Outee right down the street at Square Lake and Telegraph. Friendlier staff, bigger portion sizes, cheaper, and tastes better!

I called them to see if they were open on Sundays he said yes and I also asked if they have the barbecue spare ribs and he said yes. When my reply was thank you very much who ever answer the phone just hung up.He did not say your welcome or have a great day or thanks for calling.Oh no I will not be spending my money in a place where people are not polite. I'm an entrepreneur myself and the customer is always right no customers no business no business no life no life no pleasure!!
